Fight Month has officially come to an end.
Thank you to everyone who liked / shared the stories.
We will have new stories / profiles next month.
The goal with the stories was to give insight into the lives of these men who are chasing their dreams.
Some of these men have multiple obstacles in front of them. Whether it be financial, health or family issues, they’ve rolled with the punches and have yet to throw in the towel.
We’ve had multiple people ask about the Lucero Academy this month.
People interested in signing up their children, teens and / or themselves.
If you live in the tri-state area, feel free to stop by and check out one of their training sessions.
The academy is located in Mohave Valley ( 1876 E. Boundary Cone Road ).
Or reach them via Facebook at Lucero BJJ (Phone number available in “About” section).
For those interested in signing up their children, let me introduce you to,
25 year old, Dario “The Dude” Castillo.
Dario is one of the instructors at the Lucero Academy.
The children get to learn the art of Jiu-Jitsu with Dario on a one on one and / or group setting.
Dario, has been training with Lucero since 2017 and is also actively competing & fighting in both BJJ and MMA matches.
When asked how he felt training the younger generation, Dario had this to say:
“I absolutely love helping teach Jiu-Jitsu to the younger generation. To say it's rewarding is an understatement. I feel like their creativity, enthusiasm, and love for the art and sport of Jiu-Jitsu is not only encouraging, but a lot of fun. I truly believe martial arts as a whole is a healthy lifestyle. Jiu-Jitsu especially, considering it develops critical thinking skills, the rewards of hard work and dedication, as well as little-to-no head trauma. It makes it safer for kids without lacking necessary skills to defend yourself (and others) if there's no other option. If I knew back then, what I know now, I would have begged my parents to enroll me in Jiu-Jitsu when I was a kid. Especially, training under someone as knowledgeable as Professor Lucero, talk about a diamond in the rough. I'm truly blessed to train, learn, and teach alongside Professor Rick Lucero”
