At around 9:15 pm a small portion of the group blocked Las Vegas Blvd. obstructing traffic.
LVMPD at this point had been following the group for over an hour and reacted to the blocking of traffic. Orders to clear traffic were announced from police SUV’s which led to 3 officers approaching the group. The group stood their ground as the police aggressively attempted to detain a protester who was recording their interaction with his cellphone.
Protester (Kenny) was forcefully taken down and arrested in the middle of the street as additional officers attempted to grab protesters that were near the original group and those fleeing from the mayhem.
Officer (shaved head) pulled out his baton which slipped out of his hand and flew back - hitting Kenny on the head while being detained on the street.
Additional officers confronted protesters who were on the sidewalk and asked them to give the names of their “leaders”.
As the protesters cleared the way and regrouped they were met with more police SUV’s down the strip and were forced to disperse / end the event.
Many protesters split into smaller groups to make their way to their parking garage while SUV’s waited for many of them in front of the Bellagio to make further arrests.
3 protesters were arrested that night.
