Community garden initiatives in
East Las Vegas by @nevadaplants & @thesolidarityfridge
After almost a full year of service The Solidarity Fridge has expanded its wings to include a @littlefreelibrary (4th photo) and now a community garden with the help of Nevada Plants. For those who are unfamiliar with the name, “Nevada Plants is a new, boots on the ground community based tree planting nonprofit”. Their first planting started in February of this year and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

Top photo : Connie & Victoria, the mother - daughter tag team who made this community fridge possible on the Eastside of Las Vegas. When the fridge first opened, it was the 3rd community fridge in the Vegas area but the only one residing on the Eastside. Since then, the two other fridges have been shut down no-thanks to the city and Victoria’s fridge with the help of many grassroots & nonprofits has been able to flourish and gather the support that it needed to survive.
