Sunset at #PeeheeMuhuh / Thacker Pass
During our second evening at Peehee Mu’huh we met Joshua, Joseph and “Young Warrior”. We took time to create some portraits as the sun was setting behind the mountains and later had a conversation as to how they connected to this land and it’s current issues.
Today we introduce you to :
Due to age & privacy we are keeping this next profile short :
“Young Warrior”, a teenager from the Fort McDermitt and Shoshone Tribe - also A.I.M. Youth member.
The newest drummer to the circle, who plays with the adults & elders at Peehee Mu’huh. Warrior has been part of the camp early on and helps where & when needed. He also tells us he’s only been drumming for a few months - since late August. Warrior, along with other pre/ teens spend time in the adult circles where they are able to listen & educate themselves on the current issues at hand.
Warrior advices everyone visiting camp to prep for the cold winter weather as they’ve been getting plenty of rain recently and even had a bit of snow.
