The morning after Thanksgiving, the city of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and the Nevada Dept. of Transportation demolished a houseless encampment (video here) that had been developed and maintained by various organizations in Las Vegas including Food Not Bombs LV, New Leaf Community, The Sidewalk Project and Las Vegas Liberation.

Election Night : Las Vegas Mutual Aid
As many American’s awaited the Presidential Election results, a couple Las Vegas organizers and residents met in front of the infamous Lloyd D. George Courthouse on Las Vegas Blvd. to speak on mutual aid.
Couple different organizations introduced themselves to newcomers & discussed what people can do to help the community without the help / dependence of the 2 party system and it’s “winner”.
The change we’re all hoping for isn’t going to come from the election winner. It starts locally.

November 1st and 2nd are known as Dia De Los Muertos / Day of The Dead. A Mexican tradition celebrated across the world as a day of remembrance for family, friends and ancestors who’ve passed away. The celebration includes decorating grave sites with flowers, candles and food as well as building “ofrendas” or altars to encapsulate all members they are celebrating / remembering.
As of October 30th, 2020 - The U.S. has renamed November 1st as the National Day of Remembrance for “Americans Killed by Illegal Aliens”. Some people have found this to be very insulting to tradition.
